Mercy Huts - Train indigenous locals in hospitality and tourism in poverty stricken West Timor, Indonesia

Mercy Huts

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

Our goal is to help the communities of the Delha region in Rote Island, West Timor in Indonesia.

We are wanting to ready this community who are stricken with poverty and a very low level of health facilities and education, for the rapid increase in tourism that is happening at the moment.
What is your project and how will it help?

The project is Mercy Huts located in West Timor Indonesia.

Mercy Huts will be set up as a training ground to train indigenous locals in hospitality and tourism. This area is looking to rapidly increase in tourism and there is little preparation and research being conducted to ready the local inhabitants for this. Underlying this is a poverty cycle that envelopes the community that may be exploited by tourist hoards.

Please learn more about our project by visiting our website or reading the attachment below.
How can other people partner with you on your project?

Initially we require injection of funds.

Mercy Huts needs to raise AU$250,000 to build Mercy Huts.

We are offering incentives for each AU$5,000 donation. We will offer a week holiday for the individual, organization and their family every year until 2023.
On this holiday they will be part of their investment in the training and education of local villagers in this area.
Please detail the resources that you need.

At present we require funds to completely secure land we have tentatively acquired by deposit only.

We require $47,000AU at present to both pay the balance on the land and to construct three buildings for training.
